How to Merge PDF Files
Why choose our merge pdf tool?
100% private by design
Your PDFs are processed by your own browser using a background worker thread. They are never uploaded, stored, or seen by any server — the privacy policy of a tool can promise a lot; this architecture makes the promise physical.
No limits, no accounts
Merge two files or twenty. There’s no sign-up, no daily quota, no watermark stamped on your document, and no “premium” tier hiding the useful parts.
Instant results, even offline-fast
Because nothing travels over the network, the only limit is your device’s speed. A typical merge finishes in well under a second — before a traditional site would even have finished uploading.
Order you control
The file list is your table of contents. Reorder freely before merging; pages are assembled top-to-bottom in exactly the sequence shown.
Works on phone, tablet and desktop
The same page works on any modern browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge — on Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux. Nothing to install.
Tips for merge pdf
- Merging scanned documents? Put them in chronological order first — the merged file follows your list order exactly.
- If a file refuses to load, it may be password-protected: unlock it first with our Unlock PDF tool, then merge.
- Merged file too big to email? Run it through Compress PDF afterwards — you can hand the result over without re-uploading.
- You can keep adding files after a merge: the tool keeps your list so you can adjust and merge again.
- Dragging a folder of PDFs onto the page adds every PDF inside it at once.
merge pdf — Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. This tool runs entirely inside your browser using Web Workers. Your PDFs are read from your device, combined in memory, and written straight back to a download. There is no server on our side that ever receives so much as a byte of your documents.
Is there a limit on file size or number of files?
There’s no artificial limit. The practical ceiling is your device’s memory — merging dozens of very large PDFs on a phone can exhaust its RAM. On a typical laptop, hundreds of megabytes merge without trouble.
Is it really free?
Yes — free with no watermark, no sign-up and no daily cap. The site is supported by unobtrusive ads on the page, never by charging you or stamping your documents.
Will the quality of my PDF change?
No. Merging copies the pages byte-for-byte into a new container. Text stays selectable, images keep their resolution, fonts and vector graphics are untouched.
Can I merge PDFs that are password-protected?
Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked first, because the browser cannot copy pages it cannot read. Use our Unlock PDF tool with your password, then merge the unlocked copy.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Any modern mobile browser works. On iOS, the merged file lands in your Downloads; from there you can share it to any app or save it to Files.
