About Free PDF Tools
A PDF site with no upload server
Free PDF Tools started from a simple observation: almost every online PDF tool asks you to hand your documents to a server you know nothing about. Contracts, payslips, medical records, IDs — the files people need to merge, split or compress are precisely the files that should not travel. So we built the site the other way around: there is no upload server at all.
Every tool on this site — merging, splitting, converting, watermarking, protecting — runs inside your browser. The heavy PDF work happens in Web Workers, the browser’s background threads, using the same open-source PDF engines that power desktop applications. When a tool finishes, the result is assembled in your device’s memory and saved straight to your downloads folder.
What that means in practice
Your files never leave your device. There is no queue, no size cap imposed by a server, no waiting for an upload to finish — which is also why the tools feel fast. You can disconnect from the network after the page loads and everything keeps working.
The site is a set of static pages delivered from a CDN. It collects no analytics on your documents because it never sees them; what you do with the tools stays on your machine, where it belongs.
Three languages, one standard
The site is fully available in English, French and Arabic, including right-to-left layouts for Arabic. The tools, the guides and the help pages are written for each language natively — not machine-translated afterthoughts.
It is free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark on your output and no daily quota. That is the whole point: private, honest tools that just work.
